ACTION CRICKET, NETBALL AND SOCCER 2009
This year’s action cricket was held on the 18 April 2009 at the Silverlakes Action Sport Arena0 A total of 15 teams took part in cricket, netball and soccer. This year proved more difficult than the previous years in getting teams together, with many company’s citing the current financial crisis as the reason0 In spite of this we still managed to raise R16 600-00.
An event like this would not be possible without the commitment of the teams and sponsors, and it is with this in mind that the association has decided to give recognition to all the teams and sponsors, that have now been supporting us for the past three years. Certificates of appreciation together with beautiful photos were sent to them. Sponsors make it possible for us to present the winning teams with wonderful prizes and also to be able to give each participant a goodie bag. Special thanks to FNB Laudium branch who managed to give us five 2010 soccer balls and to Mr Rasheed Aboobaker from ABC Sweets, who gave us a cash donation of R50000. Another innovative idea was to send a collection can to companies with a letter asking the employees to please empty their pockets of any unwanted cash and raise R600 000.00.
